GIRS uses the following process to manage your move:
* Origin, Packing, and Confirmation of Services * Initiate the move order registration in the system
Confirm the pack, load, and delivery dates PRIOR to the move * Confirm and set up any destination services (unpacking, etc.) required * Schedule survey to be completed in the home and request results within 48 hours * Enter survey results, including any special instructions, as part of the electronic file * Arrival of Employees * Discuss timely arrival with the packers and driver * Notify customer of arrival time at least 24 hours in advance * Call on Packing Day to determine the level of satisfaction and also to speak to the lead packer to monitor progress * Call on Load Day to confirm timely arrival of van operator and determine level of satisfaction with loading process * Re-confirm the delivery address and new phone numbers (or hotel at destination) * Discuss progress of loading with the driver and re-confirm the delivery date * Delivery Day * Call on the delivery day to confirm timely arrival and determine level of satisfaction * Inquire of any known loss or damage * Send survey
GIRS provides full packing services. However; if you are packing items yourself, the following guidelines are suggested:
* Don't underestimate how much you own - start preparing several weeks before your move. * Pack belongings that you don't often use first. * Number each box and label where it belongs in your new home as you pack. * Keep a master list of boxes by number - you'll know right away if any boxes are missing.

General Installation & Relocation Services, Inc. (GIRS) has excellent facilities to handle all of your storage needs. If you need to store items for a short time period before you move into your new home, or if you need permanent long-term storage, GIRS can help!
If your new home isn't ready for occupancy, or if no one is there to accept delivery, your household goods may be stored in your GIRS’ warehouse at an additional charge until you are ready to receive them.
When shipments are delivered to a warehouse for storage in transit (SIT), your GIRS representative places your goods in secure storage containers to protect your items from loss or damage. Household items stay packed in their original moving cartons. Upholstered furniture is stored on specially-designed racks and protected from dust and dirt with stretch wrap. Cars, boats, trailers, motorcycles and other vehicles are sheltered inside the warehouse.
We know quality storage is important to you. That's why GIRS’ warehouse is regularly inspected and graded by our warehouse manager. GIRS’ facility is fully equipped with burglar and fire alarms, as well as sprinkler systems. GIRS offers over 40,000 square feet of storage space.
Your GIRS representative places your goods in secure storage containers to protect your items from loss or damage.
